We had several different blenders before we came across this one, and it's our favorite -- powerful, easy to clean, and comes with a whopping 10-year warranty! And from personal experience we can tell you that KitchenAid's customer service is second to none.

This is what Linda uses to make her breakfast drink. Like Ellen, she's happy to share her recipe. Just ask. And if you buy almond milk, you can make it at home. A cup of water, 1/4 cup almonds (or other nuts, like pecans), blend for a minute, and voila! No need to lug containers with unpleasant additives home from the supermarket. Those days are gone.

ILife A4s Robot Vacuum Cleaner

We love how it gets under beds, and are always amazed at what a good job it does. Although it doesn't replace a full-sized vacuum, it's great for maintenance and allows you time to do other things besides clean. For just $179.99, it's a great deal. Shark Rocket DuoCLean Ultra-Light Vacuum

We use our ILife Robot quite often, but when it comes to a full-sized vacuum, we love our Shark. We don't have this model -- ours is an older one -- but we wish we did. The DuoClean comes with a bristle brush to deep clean carpets, and a second soft brushroll to use on hard surface floors.
Shark also has cordless vacuums, the IONFlex and the IONFlex 2X. One has a single rechargeable battery, the other has two. Like the ILife Robot, they won't replace your regular vacuum cleaner, but a cordless sure comes in handy when you have quick cleanups to do.

OXO Good Grips Tabletop Spiralizer

Okay, we admit it. We don't always eat enough vegetables. But when we decided to have shrimp scampi for dinner the other night, we remembered our spiralizer -- and Instead of pasta, made zucchini noodles. The meal was delicious, in case you're wondering.

We're big fans of OXO. We have quite a few of their products and you can't go wrong with any of them. If you're not familiar with spiralizers, take a look. Be sure to watch the 30-second video. You might be inspired. The apple slices were indeed a life-changer.
Prepworks by Progressive Magnetic Measuring Spoons
​
We've had these measuring spoons for several years and absolutely love them. They nest inside each other and have a narrow end on one side and a round end on the other. That makes it convenient for getting stuff out of spice jars and other narrow containers.
The "two spoons in one" aspect also comes in handy when you have to measure, say, a teaspoon of baking soda and a teaspoon of cinnamon for a recipe. It saves you the trouble of rinsing a spoon to make it clean before you measure something else. To top it off, these are magnetic. Seems Prepworks thought of everything, and we're in awe of their genius.

Since we already had a blue KitchenAid refrigerator and a blue KitchenAid dishwasher, of course we had to have a blue KitchenAid Kettle. With eight other colors to choose from, we're sure you'll find one that looks great on your stove.
​
We like everything about this product, especially the loud whistle that lets you know when your water is hot and ready. When you get to be our age and are prone to forget, it's a good idea to know the water's boiling before the smoke alarms go off. We don't need that kind of stress.
Levoit 6L Ultrasonic Humidifier
​
Breathing dry air isn't good for you or for your furniture. So what's the solution? Small tear drop humidifers that have to be refilled twice a day are a nuisance. Large evaporative humidifiers can be noisy. Ultrasonic humidifiers that produce white dust create yet another problem.
After experiencing all the above, we decided to try the Levoit 6L ultrasonic humidifer along with a Waterdrop water filter, and we're glad we did. We put it in the Great Room and it's doing a great job! It's also good to see the face on our humidity gauge with a smile instead of a frown. Small things like that can really affect your whole day.
Better Life All Natural Cleaner, Unscented

We saw this on Shark Tank several years ago. The inventor sprayed it in his mouth to show how safe it was. That was good enough for us, and we've been using the Better Life all natural cleaner ever since, along with their hand soap, furniture polish, glass cleaner, stain remover, etc.

Better Life products are safe to use around pets, kids, and people of all ages. Unlike many "green" products, these really work, and are reasonably priced. We prefer the unscented versions, but they also offer the option of naturally scented products. Cary sage and citrus cleaner, anyone?

Linda was introduced to homeopathic medicine 40 years ago, and she says it's the best thing she ever learned. It's handy to know how to take care of yourself when you''re suffering the ill effects of bad takeout at 2 in the morning -- or find yourself in an equally unpleasant situation.
